Most answers are below. If yours is not, write to [email protected] and a person will reply, usually within two working days. Tell us which app, your iPhone or Mac model, and the versions of iOS, macOS and the app.
My iPhone does not find my Mac
- Check the SonarDesk icon is in your Mac's menu bar. If not, open SonarDesk from Applications.
- For pairing, both must be on the same Wi-Fi.
- On your iPhone, open Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network and make sure SonarDesk is on.
- If your Mac is asleep, use Wake in the iPhone app while on your home network.
The screen is black or does not appear
SonarDesk needs Screen Recording permission on your Mac. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen & System Audio Recording, turn SonarDesk on, then quit and reopen SonarDesk from the menu.
I can see my Mac but clicks and typing do nothing
On your Mac, open the SonarDesk menu, choose Settings… and turn on Allow remote control. Also allow SonarDesk under System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility.
My Mac shows as offline when I am away from home
- Reaching your Mac from another network needs SonarDesk Connect.
- In the SonarDesk menu on your Mac, turn on Available to my devices.
- Your Mac must be awake and online. To keep it reachable, set it not to sleep while plugged in, in System Settings › Battery or Energy.
I cannot pair another device
Each Mac pairs with up to three iPhones, and each iPhone with up to three Macs. Remove one first: choose Forget on a device in the SonarDesk menu on your Mac, or Forget this Mac in the iPhone app.
Subscription, restore and refunds
- To restore a subscription on a new iPhone, open SonarDesk › Settings › Restore purchases.
- To cancel, open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, or use Manage subscription in SonarDesk.
- Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Where do files I send end up?
On your Mac, in Downloads › SonarDesk. On your iPhone, in the app's Received list and in the Files app under SonarDesk.
How do I remove SonarDesk from my Mac?
Choose Quit in the SonarDesk menu, then drag SonarDesk from Applications to the Trash.

Write to [email protected] from the address you registered and we will delete it.

If you think you have found a security problem in SonarDesk, MacSonar Space, the SonarDesk Connect relay or this website, email [email protected] with "Security" in the subject. Tell us what you found and how to reproduce it. Please give us a reasonable time to fix it before you share it publicly, and do not access other people's devices or data while testing. We reply to every report.
